EVAP Leak Detection Pump urgency?
My SES light came on the other week and I pulled the P2402 code ("Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Pump Control High") in addition to my already existent P2452 shadow code (low pressure fuel sensor is shot... waiting on a part).
The car doesn't feel any different at all but regardless I pulled the code as soon as I got home to see what the issue was. Once I scanned the car last weekend I did some research on this issue and it doesn't appear to be too urgent but on the threads I was reading there was some confusion as to whether their issue was with a hose or with the pump referenced above. Has anyone else ran into this issue? What did you need to do to resolve it? Replace the pump? How much did the job cost you total? Is this an urgent issue?

evap codes normally are not high emergency have to get fixed codes . you can run with them for ever if it wasn't for emissions and a pesky ses light . only trouble is if its not the pump then its like trying to find a boost leak can be a pain.

Hate to revive a thread from the dead, but did you ever figure out what the problem was? I just had me 335i throw this same code again today, and I was told the cheapest and first thing to do is buy a new gas cap, as there o-ring on it could of been worn down and isn't making a proper seal anymore. Interested to know what results you ended up getting out of your situation.

My codes went away, for the most part. It did come up again before I sold the car but the light went away again. I suspect it was the fuel sensor on the driver's side of the fuel rail. I can't remember specifically what the part is called but its a common failure that throws the P2402.
I had to replace a similar sensor on my e92 M3 shortly after buying it. Although that was a different error.
