scissor lift / hoist
Anyone have any experience with one of these?
Used or owned one? Thinking of investing in one, trying to justify the money for it though. I have access to a hoist but need to wait weekend for it and cbf So gauging what the thoughts are here. Inb4 hoist to lift mum jokes. ![]() Last edited by fo55il; 05-29-2015 at 10:17 AM.. |

At that price I'd buy a 2nd hand 2-poster, if you have room. The scissor lifts get in the way sometimes, but depends what you're working on. Good for wheel areas and most under engine work though.

Can you get these on roller wheels??
Would be good to use to life all corners and put on jack stands in a couple of minutes!! Not everyone has the high-roof garage required for a hoist. |

if you are confident that you are good at wrenching tools then go for it, wouldn't be worth the investment if you just use it to do an oil change and some brake pads..

Iv'e looked into these before. I think they are a little on the small side! You will also have issues if doing any sought of exhaust, gearbox or downpipe mods as the braces will get in the way. I think also the posts dont have much adjustment in them so may not be suitable for where you need to mount on the bmw.
If you have the room then get a 2nd hand 2 post hoist
