For those of you insured with RACV....

As you're aware, one of the conditions on our policy is, the vehicle must be "roadworthy" at all times.

Hence, which of these mods will not pass roadworthy: Chargepipe, intercooler, meth kit.

I've already got JB4, HKS Exhaust, Stage 2 AFE DCI, Stage 1 LPFP Upgrade.

I know for a fact catless DP's do not pass a roadworthy test and hence, can technically void your insurance but I was curious to find out whether CP and intercooler would as well.

I've been itching to get catless DP's for quite some time but I don't know whether I want to run the risk with insurance.

Dont quote me on this but numerous people I know have been paid out with pretty substantial mods. The Roadworthy condition would more likely be in regards to brakes, tyres, working lights etc.

Im yet to hear any stories of people not being paid out due to excessive modifications

I would think it would more be if the modification caused the accident such as an incorrectly installed or wrong spacer causing your wheel to fall off.

JB4 would not be road worthy.

Well Rac just repaired my car from a kangaroo accident and I had most of those mods installed (and visible), they didn't mention anything about it.

It only disqualifies a claim if the modification was the cause of the accident.

Example:
Beejay chops his springs to lower his VL commodore to make it fully sik brah. Whilst 'at the drags' on prinny hwy, the springs buckle which cause the car to abruptly turn which causes a collision with another vehicle.

Insurance investigates and discover the chops springs as the cause, and now the policy is void.

I've heard this before but not sure how many people get away with this excuse in the event of an accident.
