COBB difference between stage 1 and 2 aggressive maps?

I am about to go stage 2 Cobb on my n55, and I am a technical guy, and I noticed something. The stage 2 aggressive and stage 1 aggressive maps seem to be almost identical in terms of parameters and load request. I was curious if there is something I was missing and somebody could clear that up, or if im correct and there really is no difference. Thanks! and if this has been addressed before, I couldn't find it, so sorry.

Not sue about technical parameters and performance gains, but I know it does keep the DME from searching for the O2 sensor fault that comes with the Cat-less DP, so you won't get the SES light every time you touch the throttle...

I don't have ATR in front of me right now to compare the maps, but check out the map notes to see what each was designed to do:
https://cobb.app.box.com/BMW-N55-Map-Notes

It says stage1 and stage2 are designed to make close to the same boost levels and their expected power improvements are the same.

Thats really interesting to me. Why have the downpipe if both of the maps are the same? I had always heard that a downpipe unlocked a decent amount of horsepower with the proper map (20+whp). Any possibility this is a mistake from cobb?

That is a bit odd. But I suppose it's just easier on the turbo with the DP due to improved flow.

Stage 1 aggressive does have some nice kick to it.

So I was driving around this morning and my cobb OTS stage 1 aggressive map peaked at 15.4 psi of boost. And I really was not gunning it.

Cant check the map on my ATR because i have an N54 but go to boost control table -> WGDC -> and check the main table , P and I and D.
These 4 tables control boost, i am positive that for the stage 2 they are more aggressive.

Great question Op was thinking the same thing when i saw the parameters. Now my question is if I'm stock dp and fmic then chose to run the stage 1+ fmic (or if that's stage 2) with just a cp, 93 Oct, and exhaust......would I have problems?

My mode of thinking is that stage 1+ fmic ups the boost a bit to compensate for fmic pressure drop, but since the stock fmic is decent I was thinking that would just up my boost for a bit more power?? Was going to experiment with that or protune!! What do you guys think?

I'm curious on this too. Can I run FMIC Stage 1+ with stock FMIC. I mean it is a decent FMIC I suppose. So why not for a little extra boost?

Try it and let me know how it goes. Lol

Also I was doing some driving and testing last night. Stage 1 aggressive peaked at 16.6psi

Are those peaks because of throttle closure? Because sometime I data log and the peak due to throttle closure would be like 17PSI. However in reality the logs show like 10ish-12ish.

I've been running Cobb Stage 1 Sport + FMIC without an aftermarket FMIC. Much more power. You'll love it.

I have been doing some research and chatted with Cobb as well. It sounds like the difference between Stage 1 Aggressive and Stage 2 (Which the downpipe is recommended) would be the torque. Looking at a couple of their dyno charts, they are only getting maybe 1 more HP with Stage 2, but the torque is around 400 ft. lbs.

I just installed stage 1 aggressive yesterday and you can definitely feel a difference compared to stock! The throttle response is much more responsive and it feels like it pulls much harder throughout the entire power band. I used the built in 0-60 and quarter mile time and my 0-60 was 4.6 seconds with a 13.2 sec. 1/4 mile time @ 106 mph. Not sure how accurate it is, but I'm sure it's close. I think with the downpipe and stage 2, I'll be under 13 seconds.
