I'd hate to have him caught and then the wonderful citizens pay millions in taxes just to house him the rest of his life behind bars.

Ehh, just because he looks crazy doesn't mean he's legally insane. It's his only viable defense though.

The defense would have to prove that he really had no idea of the repercussions or the severity of his actions. He reportedly told the people there "You're raping our women and taking over our country, I have to do this". If that's true and he actually said that, you can pretty much throw any insanity plea out the window.

I'm seeing reports that he was just arrested in NC which is a relief if true.

Regardless of the outcome, the idea of what has been done is just terrible. Most folks live in a world where this type of thinking and action is non existent. It is sad to see it happen, and it is alarming to see how it did.

Let's hope that his apprehension provides a bit of relief and folks there can grieve.

And, that we don't hear more stories of such senseless action on the part of anyone; sane, insane or otherwise. (Unfortunately this year seems to be peppered with them.)
