I'll let the experts jump in, but if I remember correctly the 455 is e85 rated while the 255 isn't. Even though the 255 isn't e85 rated, it has proven it can handle it.
I went 255 simply because the install seemed easier. |

Both of those pumps will max out your otherwise stock fuel system. Whether or not you are able to run E70 is dependent upon quite a few variables....tune, hardware, location, E85 source.... It's best just to log on the conservative side and increase your content based on those logs. If you run meth....E70, E85....no problem.

The 450 is certified for E85, while the 255 is not. However, the 255 has been used for the last few years with constant E85 with no issues. Both will max out the capability of your stock HPFP, but if you purchase from Steve at fuel-it.biz, the 450 kit already comes in its own modified bucket so it is plug and play and very easy to install. I purchased my 255 from him and its a longer install, and is run in tandem with your stock LPFP, unlike the 450 which is not run inline, but rather replaces the stock LPFP all together.
At the end of the day, its about how much money you're willing to spend. Both work great, but the 450 is an easier install. You just have to figure out for your self if its worth twice as much as the proven 255.

Also, depending on whether or not you are currently running methanol, E70 may be a little much. Play around with different mixtures and run logs to see which mixture works best in your car. I've had two 335i's and my 2007 ran better with 5.5 gallons on map 5 than my 2009 did with the same mods and mixture. I am running about 9.5 gallons now, but I run methanol and have a 255 inline.

The 255 will work just as well if your stock lpfp is still strong.. If you have higher mileage then consider the fuel-it.biz stage 2 kit.. It's a quality kit which is put together better than stock and it's very easy to install..

Did you do the 450 swap yourself DIY or send it in? I just ordered the pump and would like a few tips before i swap out the pump in the bucket.
