The transfer case in your xDrive is a technological marvel. When the unit begins to fail, you may notice hesitation when driving up an incline, a series of dash lights illuminating, and a distinct clicking sound. You can also simply throw a Transfer Case Malfunction fault code - in which case you can be certain an actuator service is in your future.
