forge bov questions.
Had an HKS bov with ercp. Finally had to let it go because after years of usage I really want to try something new. Had a ride in a friend's 335i with older forge dvs that he has not recirculated so they act live bovs now. I loved the loud "woosh" they give out but I'm scared of getting the newer ones only to find out that they aren't loud enough like my friend's. How loud are the new ones? how loud are they compared with synapse and compared with hks? (keep in mind i am NOT going to recirculate them.)
And usually do they come with different springs on the side or I should buy the springs separately? Here's the picture of my friend's older dvs that I found on google.(recirculated in the picture) ps: Yes I know they are dv's and I plan to use them as bovs. No im not going to buy synapse for a "woosh" sound because synapse is garbage and nearly blew my turboes out of backpressure after jamming out of nowhere. Had synapse before I brought the hks.

The Forge kit comes with several springs.
I can't speak to noise as I have never seen someone vent them to atmosphere. On our N54 they are silent but they are re-circulating. Mike |

I ran mine to vent atmosphere for a while to test as they were having issues. The sounds isn't bad. It's noticeable, but not too loud. Best thing to do is use your stock DV and unplug the recirc and that's pretty much what it's gonna sound like.
I doesn't see how new ones would sound different, don't they operate the same |
