You are talking about your own results which are a lot better than what others have got with 20t + clipped wheels. People don't want to post up results that they or the turbo vendor are not happy with. Instead of saying that your car is a freak or it was a high reading dyno, I trust your results are legit, since this is details business. You've put a lot of effort in everything that can have an impact in your results and no wonder other stage2+ results are not even close. The housings are tiny and the 2+ wheels are too big for the stock housings. The stock wheels designed for the housings are a lot smaller. Stage 2 wheels are a lot bigger than stock, but from the turbo design perspective, not too large. Stage 2+ wheels in the tiny housings are out of proportion. I cannot call them a good turbo design by any turbo design standard. The stock housings are maxed out. Going bigger than the so called stage 2 (RBs / VTT) should be done with bigger than stock housings. Out of proportion wheels will push very little more peak power due to the housing limitations, but will be less responsive and less quick in real life. I believe RB, SMS and VTT (Hexon too?) are all developing twins that address the housing limitations when larger wheels are applied. |

Undecided at this point. Kind of gathering all the info I can on them all. It'd be nice to have a big single but i just dont think the DCT will be the best candidate. Too many unknowns. I am at 530-550 rwtq now and everything seems solid. No slipping and shifts fine. My goal is at least 600 rwhp and keeping the torque manageable just for the sake of the transmission.

Regarding repeatability, VTT made 640whp which I was able to reproduce without any effort. I then put in real effort and made 680whp. In my posts, you'll see all sorts of data including dynos (from 280whp though 680whp all on the same dyno). 280whp is the FBO map 0 baseline which is not at all high reading (perhaps even low reading).

VTT said themselves they are developing twins that should have better power/spool than their 20t and clip. They are not the most knowledgeable people, but even they are able to see the mismatch they came up with. Last edited by jippii ensio; 08-14-2015 at 06:04 AM.. |
