HELP bunch of codes including DME failure code
hey guys,
One month ago I had a faulty injector. I replaced it and coded it with inpa. While i was at it I replaced the spark plugs with NGK ones. Since then the car was driving smoother than ever...never misfired once until today.. I was running low on gas ( showing 5 miles left), headed to the gas station, i pushed down the gas pedal about 3/4 of the way to get over somebody and my car immediately went into limp mode.. I limped up to the gas station and put a few gallons in hoping I misfired because i was low on gas.. restarted the car a few times and it still ran like crap! i started limping home so i can plug it to my laptop and read the codes.. the car would only limp for about 15 seconds then the power would stop ( all kind of engine lights would come on such as Breaks, Traction control, etc at this time) I d have to restart the car to be alb to limp another 15 sec. thankfully I live 1 mile from that gas station.. I was able to cruise home in neutral.. Anyways here are the codes: 30BA DME Internal failure 29CD misfiring cylinder 1 29D9 misfiring in case of tank filling level too low 29CC misfiring several cylinders 0000 unknow fault 0000 unknown fault 2D60 Fuel Mass monitoring 2C77 lambda probe behind *** converter ,signal 2C3B lambda probe in front of *** converter, not plugged mods: JB4 G5 , DP, DCI, Map 5 30% E85 Whats happening this time??? Thanks |

You likely have a failed MOSFET transistor in your DME. Try using this if you’re a DYI if not dealer will need to swap your DME(extremely expensive with extensive downtime).

Do you have a 2007 car with an msd80 dme? If so Sounds like dme failure, I went through this scenario too. Try to repair your dme MOSFET, if you can't dealer will say 6 new injectors, coil packs, and plugs.
Are you near Chicago by any chance? I

Yes i have an 07 built in late 06.. And no, I'm in Nashville.
Pulled the DME out and tested all the injectors MOFSETS.. Sure enough, mofset to injector 1 is bad.. I'm fixing to order a new one.. How do I desolder and solder it myself? Is it complicated? If so what place can I take it to to get it done? |

Take it to an electronic or TV repair
shop. They have a lot of experience soldering things. I live in Los Angeles and took mine to a shop called Arc TV in Burbank. They replaced all 6 mosfets for $45. Maybe you can ship it if you aren't able to find a local place. |

FYI Once the dme is repaired, you may find that certain injectors/cp/plugs are fried also and will need replacement.
