IDK why people get confused...The mechanics of PI on this platform are REALLY straightforward and rudimentary (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). MOTIVs kit, ADs kit, BMS/CPEs kit....They all contain virtually identical hardware. The only differences i'm aware of is means of control, which is independent of the hardware you pick. The plates, injectors, harness etc are going to be v similar.
FWIW i've been happy with the MOTIV kit.

Doesn't matter who's PI you buy, the big thing you should be looking at is the controller. I know a lot of people went with the SS AIC, but it's a pos. Dump the piggy, dump the SS, and get a Haltech...
Everyone spend a bunch of money and then when it comes to the most important part of tuning they end up with the cheapest hardware they can buy... Get with andy_divers, I think he can also do the Sprint 500 which is even more cost effective but doesn't have all the features of the Platinum Sport 1000. |

Split Second AIC is simple and it works well for what it is. Standalones come in different flavours and are (can be) very elaborate setups. They will cost considerably more to acquire, install and calibrate and at the end of the day unfortunately you still don't have all the control in one place which is sort of one of the reasons of going standalone among others It is what it is.
'Best' always ends up being what you're willing to spend and how experienced you or your tuner is with a given setup. Expensive hardware means very little at the end of the day if its in the wrong hands. How good a standalone is always sits in the hands of the one tuning it. Controllers aren't part of PI kit components and the rail/spacer/lines they come with all get the job done quite well as has been demonstrated by us and various other tuners over the last while. We really don't have a favourite here and things change/evolve over time especially when it comes to tuning. What holds as 'best' today will most likely be replaced with something a little better tomorrow. PTF |

There were several things I noticed about the Motiv kit that in my opinion are inferior to the cpe kit. Mainly that both the rail and injector plate are made from billet on the cpe kit, Motiv isn't. There are 4 mounting brackets connecting the rail and spacer on the cpe kit, Motiv has two. The fuel lines provided from CPE are higher quality. The entended studs Motiv provides have no female hex head like stock so it makes torqueing them down more difficult. The AIC controller BMS provides with the CPE kit is plug and play when wireing it to the dme, Motiv kit isn't.
That and the fact that the Motiv kit I purchased and installed was leaking. Thank god I caught it before it could burn my car to the ground. Jake tried to claim it was due to installer error but actually it's a design flaw. The bracket holding the rail to the spacer closest to cylinder 1 was loose. This caused injector #1 not to be seated properly. The cpe kit as I mentioned has 4 brackets connecting the rail and the spacer. So with the Motiv kit only haveing two if one bracket ever becomes loose watch out... |

I've heard nothing but great things from the CPE kit. And I know Fuel-IT is also working on a kit expected to be coming soon.
I agree the controller and integration is key. BMS' implementation of the SS AIC is pretty good. The JB4 is able to monitor bank to bank fuel trim variance, low fuel pressure, high fuel pressure, and has a layered safety system in place. It's a solid all around setup and is run on the worlds quickest and fastest N54s these days. Just install the parts and go no headaches tuning it. But BMS also has PI integration coming via a JB4 FSB style add on and that is going to be a real game changer when released. Sequential injection, on the fly fuel adjustment, auto tuning when coupled with their new flex fuel ethanol sensor system, integrated anti-lag to dump fuel during spool up, and some yet to be publicly discussed safety systems and integration details never before seen with port injection. Exciting times for N54s! Mike |

I am relatively new here, but how come you guys overlook the VTT Single Barrel Shotgun HPFP, or the double barrel? From the research I have done it seems to be a lot more strait forward with no need for additional electronics, and cheaper. The only downside is that the port injection might help with carbon buildup, and obviously VTT kit would not.
