vibration

So this morning when I started my car up and put it into drive I noticed a vibration when the car is in drive and my foot on the brake. This went away once the engine fully warmed up. Any idea what this is? engine mounts?

I just had my right engine mount go at 80k miles. Same symptoms. Vibrations when in drive, stopped at a light or stop sign, coming from right side. Went away after engine warmed up.

Crevier wanted $750 to replace just the right mount and would not cover under CPO.

I wanted to replace as a pair so I bought left and right mounts ($90 each) from Tischer and EAS performed labor for $175.

I'm still under CPO and I (stupidly) bought extended maintenance so I still do most everything with Crevier. They've been good to me so far. DEF tank, CBU, MAF sensor, the whole gamut.

I do most suspension work myself, but I did have Bullet Performance in Costa Mesa do the rear subframe bushings and sway bar.

EAS in Anaheim did the engine mounts and I had no issues with their work.

I don't have a go-to indy yet. I did transmission fluid/filter change myself. Normal items will be taken care of myself (brakes, oil, filters, coolant) We'll see once CPO is up for the bigger items.

mod bargains just in case amigos. Powerflex Urethane Suspension Bushings E90 Non-M3

I decided to add all sets of poly bushings as a set and came up to a total of $1709.87 kind of stiff but I recall doing the same for my 02 MCS and the total was over $600 and got a discount for buying the whole pkg and paid only $450

I wouldnt be so sure that the standard e90 non-m3 bushings would work. Ours are a different part number than the 335i bushings and are vacuum controlled. 335i and 328i had the same bushing numbers.

Along the lines of Hooper's point, you should ensure the vacuum line isn't damaged and is hooked up properly to the mount. I had to disconnect/reconnect this line during the dreaded engine bracket removal for DPF removal. I had to it yet again for wastegate porting.

My point is the mount might be fine and lacking vacuum. It's worth A look anyway.

I meant do a physical exam if hise and see that it is plugged into bottom of mount. Unforetunately, I don't know how to verify hose is plugged into mount without un bolting mount and pulling it upward to see if hose is on there. You don't have to remove adjacent bracket to engine but you definitely need to jack up engine to both support it and going up more gives clearance to pull mount up. There wasn't much slack length in my vac hose though. There ought to be another way to check this without all the work that I describe.
Please research more before you jump off into removing mount as I describe.

I do have one more idea. If you pull mount, you could check its ability to hold vacuum using a mighty vac. I use this $60 tool(with many fittings and gage) for lots of things such as bleeding brakes.

You do not need to unbolt the mount to check of the vacuum hose is plugged. If I recall correctly, you remove the under tray and I think one cover under the mount and there it is your mount with a vacuum line and a nipple.

Thanks for reminder, Yozh.

There is an aluminum plate under the mount. Some of the screws hold mount to frame and others remove the plate from frame. Only remove ones that hold plate. I wasn't able to completely get plate off as it seemed to pinched in one spot.
