European Delivery ships

Hi all,

Does anyone know how often ships leave for the US with ED cars on them? I'm planning my trip now, and was thinking about how I could get the car back the quickest...

For example: If a ship is leaving May 15, and the next earliest is May 31, I'd want to make sure my car is in Bremerhaven before the 15th so that it doesn't sit for two weeks because I took an extra day driving around Europe...

I think I read somewhere there's usually a ship every week at least, but that changes depending on where your car is going in terms of east or west coast, etc. Anyone else can confirm this?

If the ship leaves on the 15th I would drop it off on the 10th, maybe sooner. It does take a few days for them to book everything so dont drop it off on the 13th and expect it to make the next ship going out. I dropped my car off on May 23rd and it might the ship on the 30th. Hope this helps.

Just remember: sometimes the ship sinks; sometimes the longshoremen strike . . . . .

I dropped off my car on December 3d (in Munich) and made it to the ship that took off on December 10th. Some guys were waiting to be on that ship for about 2 weeks though.

More than that if you're unlucky. Dropped it off on Nov. 21 and didn't make it on the boat until Dec. 10.
