Fuel Injector Warranty

I've recently done walnut blasting, spark plugs, and replaced a crankshaft vent hose. However, a week later, my car is still misfiring on cold starts only, and seems to go away after the car warms up a bit.

I went back to the local indy shop that did the work (they're very reputable), and they claim the codes are around combustion, and my coil packs are fine. They are saying it's my fuel injectors...they looked at the IDs of each and they are all Index 09. In an effort to determine if my injectors are covered under the extended warranty, it seems my car's production date isn't covered (E92 2009).

My research says that BMW had a campaign in Jan 2013 and a new one just this month.

1. After the walnut blasting, is there any coding that needs to be done similar to injector replacements?
2. Is this 'limited extended warranty' (bmw still hasn't issued a recall) on the injectors for ALL indexes below 11? Or below 11 with certain production dates? My production date is May 2009

Thanks

When I had to have mine done a couple years ago (April 09 build), it was only certain builds and model years for injectors below index 11. If you get it done at the dealership, expect to hand over a savings account size chunk of cash...

the warranty has since been expanded, but still does not include april 09. I don't think it now includes may 09 either, but there is a thread lurking around this subforum with more specifics

Edit: here is that thread. says 2010 in the title, but worth reading... http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1209808 what makes that thread particularly annoying is, according to the E90 build dates covered, we would also be covered if we did not have E92's. Hard time believing the injector parts were really different on the same build days for the same type of engine...

I noticed the e90 build date too!
I just called my dealer and they said anything Index 8 or higher was acceptable, but if one does go out below Index 11, all 6 need replaced.
My only hope is to fight with BMW NA...I think I'm screwed.

Edit: Do you think I should assume the injectors are bad because they're Index 9, or 'believe' BMW in that there wasn't an actual issue with injectors from our build dates? The indy shop I use only uses OEM parts, but labor would likely be free since they been diagnosing my misfire for 2 months now with walnut blasting, pcv valve, and crankshaft vent hose...still around $1500 for parts. Insane!

Don't wait too long... Leaking injectors can wash down the cylinders and dilute your oil
