Can we figure out Carly's parameters?

Carly's parameters leave me with more questions than answers. I compiled the entire list hoping the forum braintrust could educate us on them--and maybe get the folks at Carly to make some edits.

Is there any way to monitor the EGR valve opening?

What combination of parameters are recommended to monitor the car's systems? For example, which ones would be best for monitoring the intake/exhaust track? The DPF and SCR? Your favorite setup?

Well, duplicate names certainly does not help. There are duplicates within the standard OBD2 structure, however, without an address reference it woud just be a guess which is which. Tha attached reference document should help answer most of your questions.

Not to self promote, but if you get Torque Pro, you can use my custom PIDs for the 335d. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1118429

Thanks for putting this list together. I am in the same boat as you.
I believe there is a parameter to see the % of the EGR valve.

I don't mean to derail the thread, but can someone summarize the difference between Torque Pro and Carly? Does Torque Pro allow coding of the modules like Carly? And does Carly require the use of a Carly-branded OBD reader or can you use a generic/off-brand dongle?

.
To my purposes the most important values are
rpm
maf mg/stroke
inj. mg/stroke
Boost, pressure and temperature
rail pressure

If these are ok, car flies.

Yea, lets get a list of your preferred parameters to view in Carly. I plan on getting Torque as well but right now am using Carly.

Right now I'm using:

Distance traveled since last successful regeneration
Average regeneration interval
Current Motor Torque
Detected Battery Voltage
Vehicle Speed
Coolant Temperature

I've been trying to focus on my regeneration times lately and my battery is giving me "increased discharge" error.

Can anyone tell me which parameter monitors the EGR valve opening?

Sent the list to Carly and just got a reply from Thorsten. Hopefully, we'll learn more about Carly's parameters and EGR monitoring soon.
