335D purchase contemplation (CPO) and other questions
I'm in the market for a new car, my currently lease expires in June. But, for the right car, I'll buy it now. So, I'm weighing my options at this point. I'm thinking of this, an A3 TDi or even a e46 ZHP. All three are totally different cars.
I see a local dealership (Dodge) is selling a CPO '11 335d non-sport, non-tech with 61k for around $18.9k. I verified it with BMW that it's still under CPO until February, 2017 which seems pretty good. The adviser was a bit busy so they couldn't go into details about it. What would this cover? Just powertrain, emissions or is it bumper-to-bumper? Any deductibles for each "claim?" How hard is it to put it into my name if a dealership that's not BMW sells me the car? Is that even possible? Also, I've been noticing a few cars on various search sites, having the M-sport front bumper, but not the package. Meanwhile, the car has never been in an accident. Is that bumper a stand alone option? I don't see it when I run the VIN on bimmer.works. And lastly, did the tech package come with rearview cameras? I tried a google search and all I get are DIY rearview cameras. Last edited by hang your cross; 03-05-2016 at 09:54 AM.. |

Here's the car I just looked at. I don't think I'm going to buy it since it doesn't have heated seats

You can find the CPO coverages at the BMWNA website. Or here: http://test.resource.bmwusa.com/Pdf_...87fd99957.arox As far as putting in in your name, yes, you can do that, even if buying at a non-BMW dealership. I just called and did it on the phone with BMWNA, but there is also a form. As far as the mSport bumper on a non-M car - That was not offered on the 2011, but was on the 2010. There was a "704 M SPORT SUSPENSION " option on the 2010 (maybe the 2009 also) that you could get BEFORE they decided to offer the "M Sport PACKAGE" on the 2011 model. That explains that part !! There was no "tech package" available on the 2011 335d. Maybe you mean "Navigation" when you say "tech?" You can go to "http://www.bmwvin.com/" and enter the last 7 of the VIN and get a full rundown of what that car or any BMW car has on it. Here are the specs on that car from that site: Vehicle information VIN long WBAPN7C54BA781731 Type code PN7C Type 335D (USA) Dev. series E90 (MUE) Line 3 Body type LIM Steering LL Door count 4 Engine M57Y Cubical capacity 3.00 Power 210 Transmision HECK Gearbox AUT Colour ALPINWEISS 3 (300) Upholstery LEDER DAKOTA/SCHWARZ (LCSW) Prod. date 2010-06-28 Order options No. Description 1CA SELECTION COP RELEVANT VEHICLES 2VB TYRE PRESSURE INDICATOR 205 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION 319 INTEGRATED UNIVERSAL REMOTE CONTROL 4AB FINE-WOOD TRIM BURR WALNUT 4NA INTERIOR MIRROR WITH DIG. I can tell you I paid $16K and $17,200 for two 335ds which were much better equipped than that one is. If you are willing to look/drive a little bit out of your way, I bet you can find a very well-equipped 335d for a decent price. For example. this dealer is fairly close to you (based on the ZIP of the other car you posted) and is very well-equipped: https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...1126/overview/ Happy shopping !!! ![]() Last edited by larrysing; 03-05-2016 at 06:45 PM.. Thanks for the reply. The car you linked was one I was referencing to in regards to M-Sport bumper.
I guess I'm calling the navi option tech package. Does that come with a review camera at all? |

508 Park Distance Control (front) (Included in package) ZCV (Not in combination with ZMP on restricted models) OR 507 Park Distance Control (rear only) The vast majority of 335d cars I have seen for sale have not had either of these options. The 508 Front option is the rarest of the two. Many cars have the 507 rear, but to find the 508 front is a true rarity. The M Sport package comes with 507 on the 2011 models. |
