Just installed SSTT and K & N

I can finally hear the turbos in this car! Big difference over stock. Very fun. Power comes on strong, car now feels like you have turbo lag because it hits you hard. Can definitely tell the psi is increased. I only drove it for 20 minutes but one thing I have noticed in this short time is it feels like the timing is retarted now compared to stock at low rpm. Maybe my ECU needs to "learn". My car always had an issue at idle, RPM would jump around a little, but now its rock solid. I would definitely recommend this to folks not wanting to mess with ECU. Absolute blast.

Couple of tips for install:

There was no way my 2 arms were fitting down there. I have scratches all over my arms to prove it. So after 30 minutes of trying I tried a different method that took 5 minutes. I used the guitar pick and pulled the clip back with right arm, then i used a long screw driver (over a foot long) with small flat head on it, with the screw driver in my left hand I gently pushed down on the male end of the tmap sensor (it has edge on it so the flat head fit perfectly up against it). This got it starting to come out, I then just used my right hand which was already down there holding the pick to pull it out. I then dropped the pick, so off to closet to get a coat hanger, put some gum on the end of it and the pick was recovered. Ill will try to make some pictures of the way I got the sensor unclipped because it was very easy to do.

I have the SSTT as well and love it. Where is the easiest place to pick up a K&N airfilter and how much do they cost?

If you look at the BMC. Ask for Eloy. $85 shipped 3 day UPS. No tax out of CAL.

K&N, BMW, ITG..... just personal preferences? Or why are people choosing one filter over another? They are all drop in replacement filters aren't they?

Just would like to find out, if I will notice any differences if I drop in an aftermarket filter. I also have an SSTT at the moment.

Thanks

Seems like everyone is really happy with the drop in and SSTT combo.. I think this is the route I will be going. Anyone else expereince the intermitten power issues mentioned in the other post?
