Forza vs. Gran Turismo
Looking to invest in something that will keep me a little occupied. I guess this question is more geared towards Xbox 1 versus PS4 but I already created another thread about that. However, my primary concern is the debate between these games. Read up massive reviews, looking to see what fellow car people think.
I've owned nothing but Playstations in the past and every single Gran Turismo game. Never played forza but have been hearing some good stuff... I heard they got the best engine note sounds out of the racing games.. But I just always loved the feel of the gran turismo games and I can only imagine how it is now.. I've always looked at the Playstations as the iPhones of Video games and Xboxs as the shit androids. Maybe I'm wrong.. But this question is more geared towards these games. Thanks for the feedback! |

I started out with PS1 and then to PS2 then Xbox 360 and i've never looked back. I got an Xbox 360 because of Forza Motorsport 2, i was obsessed with drifting (still am) and yes it does have the best Exhaust notes and better driving physics than any other game. it doesn't feel arcadie one bit. I recently made my brother get an Xbox one, i just set it up for him today. The best things about Xbox one are: Reverse compatibility, sharing digitally downloaded games, and the fact that you can set up your Tv to play with your xbox one. Plus a great racing community on Forza Motorsport.

I used to play GT but since the xbox 360 (I had PS3 as well) IŽll never look back, Forza is just superior, graphs, car behavior, circuits, damage and car customization.

I actually like Forza 4 way more than Forza 6. The rain and night driving do nothing for me. They messed up the exhaust sounds terribly. Cars that sounded amazing in Forza 4 sounds like crap in Forza 6.

I know XB1 has free demos for both Forza Horizon 2 and Forza 6, if you want to give them a try.
The rain in F6 is sketchy as balls. |

I've always been a Gran Turismo fan, though I do wish it had some of the cars available in Forza.

The rain in forza 6 is annoying because there are puddles at almost every apex of every turn, so its not fun to drift or circuit around the tracks... Bottom line, Forza is way more superior than GT... There are 2 types of Forza as well, one for Arcade style racing/fun (Horizon Games) and one for simulation driving (Forza Motorsport)... Both are fun

I'm a dumb and dumber when it comes to gaming but I recently saw triple monitor and bucket seat set up for Forza and I wanted one ever since.
Does anyone have a setup like that? How much do they usually cost? |

Forza's graphics are much better, but honestly the physics and overall driving is betterin Gran turismo 6…if you play with a proper wheel setup. Don't get me wrong, I think forza is far more fun as a racing game as races just feel more exciting, but if you are looking for s tool to actually help with driving (car control/etc) I'd stay away from forza as its not very realistic. Gran turismo's physics and tire model are better. I think the next gen GT on the ps4 is going to blow forza away.
But these days I play neither as I'm hooked on the best simulator on the market. Assetto Corsa which is actually coming out on both consoles next year. Here's my current setup:

You need 3 consoles and 3 copies of the game to run triple screens on consoles. I did it for GT6, but it was annoying because it meant you need to turn on each console separately and run through the menus separately until they were all synced up every time you play. Also because they are just running over ethernet the side displays would sometimes get delayed or stutter. Building a PC and running Assetto Corsa (or Project Cars/iRacing/Rfactor2 if that's your thing) ends up costing almost the same and you can run much better sims.
