Low dust pads.

So i am thinking of changing my brake pads, the ones on the car see super dusty. I drive for 1 week and the wheels are black. Any recommendations for better pads that minimizes on brake dust?.

I have akebono's on the back and brembo pads on the front. The front will be covered in dust within a week. I don't think I've ever have had to clean off dust on the rear wheels. I've already ordered akebono for the front and back when I have to replace them.

Front do about 80% of the braking so they will always have more dust.

Unfortunately dust means stopping power (to some degree).

Although the OEM pads tend to dust a lot more with not the best braking ability.

Hawk 5.0 is very popular with us. Dust appears to be less then stock and stopping power and pedal feel is improved.

If you clean your car regularly, you can use a wheel brake dust repellent that will not allow the dust to adhere. It works pretty well. Armorall and a few other brands sell it.

Stoptech Street Performance is one of the best out there. It's not dustless, but still exceeds OEM specs and offer slightly better braking.

Dustless pads usually don't offer the same stopping power. Jeff mentioned that in the above post.

I have had Textar ePad for about a year now. They dust substantially less that my stock pads, which I believe were Jurids.. They are NOT dustless, but the car looks fine if not washed for 10 days or so. It used to be that I couldn't make it 4 days without being frustrated with brake dust.

I used Akebono on our minivan and the dust was even less. Initial stopping power seemed a bit light, but when i had my foot deep into the pedal, it bit and never faded. Clearly that is not a performance vehicle, but I have driven through mountains in rain with my family in the car and I will use those pads again when it comes time for the new van to have new pads.
