N55 JB4, Is this map 5 boost typical?
Hello guys,
Quick question regarding the JB4 and my mods, which has been bugging me for a little while (although probably nothing to break a sweat over). I've been running my JB4 without issue. I've ran map 5 since I got the tune. The boost spikes to around 17/18 psi, dropping to around 15 or so up top. No hiccups, stuttering, feels very linear and strong, albeit the bit of lag that's present when I mash the throttle. Question is - the boost that map 5 is adjusting for, is this safe considering the mods I have (mods are in my sig)? Knowing that map 2 requires catless dp and is only supposed to achieve 14-14.5, it just somewhat boggles me that map 5 considers all parameters a green light for it to work in that much boost. But hey, who am I to argue over it wanting to boost a bit more? Is this common, all considering? Thanks guys.

Need to know what fuel you are using. When I ran map 5 with E30 and stock dp I would hit 18psi. The lag you are feeling is most likely due to the stock dp. As long as timing looks good I wouldn't be too concerned.

Thanks for the reply. Im running 30% e85 mix with 93 octane. Good to know that this happens.

Isn't that just typical boost tapering? Or does the N55 not have to taper?

Question 2- Is it safe? Maybe, only real way to know for sure is if you check your logs.
