Seized Rotors? Don't bother with BFH
So my rear rotors were seized like a b****, 80k miles 335i. Looked online, and every recommendation was to hammer the crap out of them.. not the safest and totally doesn't work on really seized rotors. Spent a good 2 hours hammering.
Rent one of these from Autozone, 7 Ton Jaw Puller, pops off in a jiffy. Need a 14mm for the nuts on the arms and a 19mm to turn the screw. |

I remember same thing happened to me in the past when I was changing rotors for Dodge Grand Caravan. I ended up using a crazy setup from my 2x4 wood and a hydraulic jack-lift - to pop the rotors. It worked eventually but I wish I knew about this tool

Also works to press out suspension bushings (hydrobearing included), bearing races, pressing stuck axles, etc.
Good tool to own. A set of them in a few sizes has proven invaluable throughout the years.

A small piece of 2x4'' and sledge hammer does the trick 9/10 times

Worth noting my wheels were really seized on all four but especially so in the rear. Forgot to use antiseize after the shop mounted my new wheels. I think the humidity in Louisiana is the culprit! |
