I just purchased a 2013 335i convertible. I believe I have the N55 engine? Its a twin turbo.

My question is.. what are some of the things I could do to enhance the performance without breaking the bank?

Im not going to use my car on the track, I am just looking to see what can be done to give the car a bit more "get up and go".

Tuning?
Air intake?
Exhaust?

I appreciate any comment..

The N55 is a single turbo. The easiest is to just buy a JB4 and call it a day.

You have a 2013 with an N55. It's a single turbo.

Do you maybe have a 335is instead? That's the N54 twin turbo engine.

you have a TWIN scroll SINGLE turbo..not twin turbo

Check again. Likely says "Twin Power Turbo" which is the N55.
If it's the N54 it says nothing. N54 was 335is, N55 was regular 335i.

JB4 and an exhaust is the plan for our N55 sedan.

Dude/Dudette, take the time to at least know what you are driving, before asking for modifications.

If you have a factory warranty, leave it alone.

i have an n55,
i spent around $1100 for parts and you can see how the car is moving, see my signature for details.

Before doing the bmw performance flash, this is just JB4, vrsf charge pipe and downpipe.

Personally, I am not a fan of open filters under the hood, sucks in warm air.
For exhaust, IMO, we are looking at the BMW Performance, or Dinan systems, muffler only. Want it for audible reasons not necessarily performance.

I can't say anything regarding the PPK as our car had it from factory, so no before/after notes.

I have the BMS intake and I love it but it is not an essential mod for this car. I would do a JB4, downpipe, and intercooler first. Then if you want a little more power/sound, get the intake.

My plan now is to get rid of the run flat tires.
Purchase the JB4 and a Chargepipe.
Then at a later date possibly the BMW Performance exhaust and BMS Intake.

If i were you

1. JB4 (Big bump in HP)
2. K&N Drop in filter (BMS Intake is BS, i had one, gone back to the stock airbox with a drop in)
3. BMW Performance Exhaust (Its just the muffler)
4. BMS Charge Pipe (Maintenance mod, stock one will crack even on an unmodded car, its super easy to install)
5. Non Run flat tyres (RFT are crap, replace with something like Michelin Pilot Super Sports 265/30/19 Rears and 235/35/19 Fronts

Start with those, your care will have a nice bump in sound and performance and ride quality and can be easily taken back to stock in less than a day.

Next level of mods make it harder to go back to stock, it can still be done you would just pay the labor again.

6. FMIC (Stops the heat soaking issue of the stock FMIC)
7. Catless Downpipe (Increase in HP plus loudness of exhaust)

Depends on how much you are looking to spend and what is your budget.

One thing is for sure, JB4 is your starting point

Lots of dealers including us offer it, check out the vendor section and good luck with your modding journey

In all honesty, for someone that isn't a gearhead, I'd take a different approach. JB4 will definitely give you more power but for a completely worry free power increase I'd recommend just getting the PPK. It's cheap now from the dealer, free if you like to tinker with computers. There are no maps to set or settings to alter. Also, the stock turbo is so small your not able to get as much top end out of the jb4 until you upgrade it or run e85 or Meth. It definitely depends what your expectations are. If you want a corvette killer afterwards then you need to go the jb4 / aftermarket turbo route.
