Intercooler is in, went with the Wagner Evo 1 Performance. Decided it was a good price vs performance balance. Fitment was pretty good, although the installation instructions were basically 'remove old intercooler, install new'! I would have liked a little more guidance, but I got the job done. I installed without removing the bumper, which was quicker, but I bent a few fins (not many) as a result. Tough getting a much larger intercooler in around the bumper.

Shout out to Mike at Extreme Power House. Good prices, and fast shipping! Down pipes go on next!

Also, thanks to Jeff at Top Gear Solutions for his input.

Great to have vendors on this forum that seem truly interested in helping us get the most out of our cars!

Oh, and now with Stage 1+ MHD, car feels really strong! Can't wait to try Stage 2+, and E40, once the down pipes go on!

This. You'll need at least a Stage 1 inline pump for E40 or your lpfp will tank.

Thanks, I thought I might be able to get away with it for a bit. But I guess I better hold off on E40 until I get an LPFP upgrade.

So.... I had five votes on this to start with the charge pipe. Which did not sound like much fun, so I ordered FMIC & DPs. I installed the FMIC last Saturday, and was thinking of doing the DPs this weekend.

I guess the five guys should get some kind of a prize -- today, after work I went WOT for a few seconds, and then got what sounded like a backfire! Ended up in limp mode home.

Sure enough, charge pipe was blown!

First question, I drove about 10 freeway miles home this way. How bad was that for the engine, with the throttle body open to the atmosphere?

Second, I am thinking of sticking with the stock DVs, and then maybe later I upgrade to Forge DVs which go right in the OEM DV flange. Is this as good as any other option? Or should I bite the bullet and get a BOV setup with the CP now? I don't care about the BOV sound, I just want to have no boost leaks and spend in stages. Especially now that I am ending up doing CP, FMIC and DPs all at once, like I was trying to avoid!

Thanks again for the input.

Get an aftermarket stainless charge pipe with the stock DV connector. Blowoffs are a waste of money unless you want to be the douchebag with the hissing that can be heard a mile away. Not worth the extra $200 IMO. Also, get an intake ASAP (Burger DCI), otherwise your FMIC and DPs are semi-useless (you're getting the same amount of air in, duh).

Edit: Some people will recommend charge pipes last because they might or might not break, not for a while sometimes. Mine broke a week after I bought the car, it was stock (lol).

Look into the Turbosmart dual ports! Can be set up as vent to atmosphere or recirculation...I'm loving them. The vta option is pretty discreet and quite also, not obnoxious, and can be changed in less than 5 min when you decide you get a bit annoyed, so far I haven't been annoyed by it or attracted any extra ricers lol
