e93 Duraflex CSL Trunk Worth It?
I was looking at the ebay CSL trunks for the e93 and wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with them. I have heard a lot of negative things about fitment with Duraflex but was hoping the trunk might be a different story. I know Duke Dynamics makes a CSL for the Vert but it is too rich for my blood.

I would stay away because they do not offer realistic photos of their product on your car for fitment and do not say anything about guaranteed fitment or money back for the customer.

You have to be SUPER careful about the type of trunk you swap on an E93.
It is too integral to the hardtop operation for me to want to fuck with it. |

I would be afraid of it - especially since all pics are renderings, like they haven't even built one yet!

No real pictures, made of fiberglass, and has this disclaimer: "all aftermarket parts may require work & modification" sound like a recipe for a crappy product that won't fit.
Get a carbon fiber performance spoiler for a third of the price and call it a day.

Just means he's an honest seller, not that the product is good. If you look, some of his positives mention issues with fit.
OP, think about how much stuff the trunk touches. Quarter panels, bumper, tailights, body, etc. If any of that is off, it will take work to fix and/or will look horrible. And this lid will move every time you raise or lower the top. If anything is off a tiny bit, you may come in contact with the top or the lid may crack if the tolerances are off. All of that will cost more to fix than the savings you'd get. Duraflex stuff will either fit or it won't. Problem is that you don't know which one you get until you try to install it, they don't do quality control much. Can't at the price they sell it for, pop it out of the mold and that's it. If you get one that doesn't fit, you're likely stuck w/ return shipping and/or restock to send it back. And if you want a replacement, you're still stuck w/ return shipping and the new one may not fit either. |

I'd pay a bit more and go Duke Dynamics or LTMW
I do see that they take returns if you're not satisified though.

My brother had a duraflex bumper & it wiggled a lot, it looked like jello. I wouldn't trust the quality on it personally
Plus that one doesn't look CSL style |

Don't do it, a good friend of mine had one on his e93 m3. After having the trunk for a few months, he took his car to bmw to get serviced, after they were done, the tech went to put something in the trunk and when he closed it, the shocks for the trunk shot through the top of the trunk. Luckily since it happened when the tech was closing the trunk, they replaced it with a cf one, paid to have it wrapped, and gave him a loaner.
