Question about brake service.
I was going through the vehicle status of an E90 M3 I might purchase. They had recently serviced the front and rear brakes by replacing the rotors and the pads. Is it normal for the next brake service interval to be set at 60,000 miles?

I don't know about 60k miles, my brakes last around 31k
Regardless of what the interval is set at, the brake wear sensors will trigger when pads are worn and let you know it's time to replace

It is probably possible that the CBS reset will bring it to that amount. However You cannot do a preset interval for mileage.
Now will it ever last that long? I highly doubt it. Specially for an M3

My OEM 330i pads went over 70k before I changed them out to used OEM 335i brakes. Car now as 131k miles so 60k+ on these in addition to whatever miles were on them before I bought them. CBS says I have about 12k left on the front last I checked.
M3 uses the same pads so doesn't seem out of the question, although the drilled rotors can speed up pad wear.

I have a question along the same lines:
How often should I check my brakes to make sure that they are okay? Thanks in advance! - Miranda (http://bit.ly/2aB8ibG) |
