Inlet install estimate

Hey guys I'm looking to install the MMP silicon inlet (in stock location, driver side) and wondering what are the quotes you've been getting for labor?

These will be the 1.75" diameter connection to stock frame turbos.

Usually about 4-6 hrs most do it when changing or upgrading turbos to limit the cost.

go for the 2" ones incase you ever want to upgrade turbos in the future. I emailed Mauricio about this he said he'd recommend 2". this was his reply when I asked about fitment

"Yes the 2" ones will work on stock turbos by just clamping down on it, no problem"

On the 335is MMP inlet/outlet install thread here, the OP said he paid $180 for the inlets install, but indicated he thought he'd gotten a bargain because his mechanic said they were a PITA to install. He paid another $180 for the outlets install, which were quite a bit easier, so his mechanic apparently felt it balanced out.

Edit: I was just quoted $700 for both based on 7 hours for the inlets (which is what it took them to do some RB inlets recently) and 3 for the outlets. Which would make it $490 for just the inlets. Yikes. The OP in the other thread got a hell of a bargain.

490$ is reasonable lol. Seen installs range from 450-600$

I got my inlets and outlets done for 250. The mechanic regretted it entirely and said he'd never do it again. he'd probably charge in line with what everyone else is saying now

4-6 hours for sure. I'd almost say expect to pay 6. Inlet installs aren't fun.

Or when doing a clutch job. The real PITA is the real inlet but with the tranny out its right in your face..

Yeah, well, with only 31K miles on my car, I'm not in a hurry to replace the stock turbos. The OP in the other MMP inlet/outlet thread got to 500 whp on his 335is with stock snails (and some judicious tuning by BQ). I'd be a happy camper with that.

It's really not that hard if you have the tools, a general idea of what you're doing, and the ability to improvise as needed. I'm probably older than 95% of the forum and I did them both in a day on jackstands. If you can find someone to help that's a huge plus as well.

That "not fun" sounds like a lot of fun afterward ahah.
Any particular reason why you chose the relocation inlets vs stock location inlets?
