How to avoid Dsp/Amp reboots during engine crank?

I have tried signal sensing through speaker inputs for remote as well as the pin 13 remote behind the idrive to turn on my Dsp/Amp. Either way works great, but both have the same behaviour during engine crank.

When I unlock the car, Idrive wakes up, Dsp powers on which then in turn powers the amp on. When I put the key into the slot and crank the engine, all the current being drawn by the starter results in the Dsp/Amp rebooting. It takes around 15/20 seconds for Dsp to reboot because of a 1 or 2 second engine crank which is very annoying.

I was thinking if I could add a time delay relay on the remote wire going to the Dsp this could solve the issue.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Sounds like you may need a new battery.

^^ I would have to agree. Shouldn't have that problem at all and I've never seen it before of several dozens that we installed.

Has happened on my car since day 1. I have a theory that its intentional to preserve starting voltage on certain cars (diesel?)

Thanks for your replies guys. my battery is almost new, only a few months old. My amp/dsp is connected to the main positive battery terminal. (Main + lug on the actual battery not the fused distribution block) Could this cause any issues?
