475 kw = 630 hp
750 Nm = 550 ft lbs tq

How does the launch control work is it a line lock?

I did not see it was in kW. This is crank power though.

Not a kit - they are just doing some testing.

On a Turbo Car, a true Launch Control system holds a particular RPM (programmable usually), hits a Target Boost Value & uses a LC-unique Ignition Strategy so you can leave the line with boost already built up.

Unfortunately we don't have anything that advanced on the N54, but I believe the JB4 has a "Launch Control" feature that holds an RPM and builds some boost. My concern would be that there is no Ignition Strategy, but it shouldn't be something you're using "regularly" (just from excessive wear it'll place on the turbos + clutch).

Why is engine dyno testing so uncommon for the N54 platform?

Because not that many people build motors for the n54 so there really hasn't been a need to. Engine dynos are kind of a benchmark tool and usually used just for engine break in procedures, not necessarily to get power numbers
