Cleaning Windows with Tint
Does anyone have suggestions on what type/brand cleaning agent to use when cleaning windows with tint film. I just had 35% tint installed all the way around (except front of course) and love the look. It sure makes the car look very stylish yet not too ghetto. Anyway i figured I'd ask here and get some suggestions on cleaning methods.
The type tint i have is a non-relective window film made by Johnson Window Films. The line i had installed is called Ray Guard - which is their standard base line. Well any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Chris |

Thank you all for the quick input. I believe i will be picking up what u suggested. I also emailed the manufacturer of the tint and they responded that the best cleaner is simply water with a small amount of soap. They also indicated that non-industrial window cleaners with ammonia such as windex will not damge the film as long as it is not allowed to remain on the film for a long amount of time (which must mean not allowing extra residue to remain on the tint).
Anyway i plan to use soap and water most of the time and probably the cleaner you all suggested when it really needs it. Thanks again all. ![]() Chris |
