Issues After Updating DSC

Well I attempted to update my DSC today and as soon as it started flashing my Windshield wipers turned on and would not turn off. The process took a few minutes and said that it had completed successfully. Now, my Low Traction, Brake and ABS lights are all on.

Is there something else I'm supposed to update at the same time or did something go wrong?

Hi, did you use winkfp or ISTA-P? First thing is to read error codes with Rheingold or INPA and try and clear them.

I've seen this before, I believe it's just a mismatch with various other modules.

Try and code the module back to default with NCS-Expert. If not, full flash the car with ISTA-P. It'll be fine.

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean...

Just update car with ISTA-P. All will be ok.

If you have DIS there is also an option to calibrate DSC. You can try that.

Angle steering sensor must be calibrated. It can be done using Tools32.
Then recode DSC module using expertmode in NCSEXPERT. That's it.

Wipers on during flashing is a standard reaction when you flash DSC with WINKFP.

Sorry for such a simple question, but how do I recode it via ncsexpert? I haven't taken a look at it yet but will tomorrow so I'd like to know what I'm getting into so I don't break anything else.
Thanks for your time

You need to code it to default. There are lots of guides for this.

This is a good one:

Password for PDF is: bmw coding.com

Delete the space I between bmw and coding.com this forum won't all the above site to be written down. Lol.

Upon trying to reset via tool32 I received an error "ecu subfunction not supported" or something along those lines, which is the same thing that inpa was doing.

After running ncsexpert I was able to reset CBS and attempt to do the steering wheel calibration... But it just says "calibration steering angle only with steering wheel balancer!!" Am I supposed to do something else?

Only thing I had to do after updating my DSC was to reset it to default with NCS and then calibrated DSC by activating all of the DSC calibration functions in INPA.

I did all of the resets in inpa I believe and I still have the following errors:
Body: dynamic manager-shutdown due to brake control unit 62D6
Abs: inlet valve calibration 5DD2 (do not interrupt sentenced)

I greatly appreciate everyone's help! The issue has been fixed. First I ran the "SG" in ncsexpert, then I believe it was SG_reset within jobs on ncs. After that I went to inpa and reset both condition based sensors and ran all resets up to f6 and the lights instantly went away.

But, now once again I need help. I had also updated my FRM module at the same time. So I figured that I should probably code that with ncsexpert before any issues occur. Now... No longer have a radio, or even lights on it. Besides that I believe I may have put some ecus into "sleep mode" via inpa functional jobs. Do either of these have any thing to do with not having a radio? I haven't messed with it at all to try to figure it out. Obviously a few good lessons were learned today.

Edit: After searching I might have put a module into transport mode I believe... No idea what one but if anyone knows how to get it out if greatly appreciate it.

You should look into an INPA, there is some option to enable/disable transport mode, I'm pretty sure that you have it enabled.

First step after updating/replacing a module is to code defaults with NCS. I had no radio and some other functions when I replaced my CCC, once I coded the defaults everything came back to factory normal. Same thing when I flashed the AC, it read temperature in C right after flashing but went back to F after coding defaults in NCS.

I had the same problem with DSC. the problem was caused during the programming sequence - the steering wheel was not straight and so the steering wheel sensor was misaligned

the solution was to recalibrate steering wheel using ISTA-P. With the steering wheel straight of course

just curious - is there a particular reason you're updating these modules at random? Was any physical hardware replaced?

Hello,

It is old thread, but I am encountering DSC traction and abs alarm after dsc flashing. I did steering calibration by tool32 but I still have those alarms. What else do I need. I need inpa to rest abs and traction alarm? Can you give me on how to do them by inpa?

Thanks

Recode DSC and should be ok.
Then you will probably have to do a CBS reset. You can do it via dash settings.

I mean that you can use BC stack to reset pad sensors etc.

CBS can also be reset by DIS or Rheingold.

I dont know what program you have installed at the moment?

after dsc flashing, i have faced dsc errors (5dd2, 5dd0, d35b). i learned that it could be removed by restting cbs. i have inpa instead of dis or ISTA/D reset. however i am still not possible to resolve the issue...

I introduced ista-d and was able to fix this issue. So ista-d is necessary to resolve it.
