need help with what these codes mean
29D2 - Misfirings, cylinder 6 and
2E35 - Injection valve cylinder 6, input signal Hi folks, I was driving back on a road trip and the wonderful half engine/reduced power light came on. Car started to run like $hit. (i'll try and get a video of it.) The engine runs but barely. Like its not firing on all cylinders. The codes I pulled are 29D2 - Misfirings, cylinder 6 and 2E35 - Injection valve cylinder 6, input signal. The car has 66k on it. I think it might be on of the injectors not spraying fuel in the cylinder. thanks ps i have not go in for any of the open recalls. Will this get covered by the injector recall? Not sure what the code for a bad coil pack is. However, I know when the coil pack does go bad the car will go into limp mode and run rough as hell.

the reason i didnt think it was the coil pack was because it threw a "injector valve, input single " code. Would or could a bad coil trigger a "injector valve, input single" code?

Hey guys sorry bringing back the old thread but im having an exact same issue and didnt want to create another thread.
I tried switching ignition coils after replacing all six plugs but no luck. 29D2 - Misfirings, cylinder 6 and 2E35 - Injection valve cylinder 6, input signal Could it be a bad injector? or do I have a bad DME? Im going to call dealer with vin and see if my car is up for a DME recall? My car was built 07 and have JB4 for about 6000 miles now. Any help or comment would be appreciated! |

2E35 code
I also had the same problem. I felt my 335i slightly misfire and then got worse and the check engine came on and it went into limp mode. I work at a independent shop in the Bay Area. So I used our autologic to scan it and the following codes popped up:
29D2 2E35 My code was for cylinder 6. I started off checking spark plugs, then coils, still didn't help. Then I hooked up the autologic and one by one turned off each fuel injector. As I did the car would tremble and the misfire would worsen. However when disabling cylinder 6's fuel inejctor no change....therefore I knew my fuel injector for cylinder 6 was faulty. Since I have CPO warranty I called the STEALERs and they said I'd have to pay $125 for them to look at it and if its covered in my warranty they'll take care of it. However there next available appointment was 2 weeks away! NO WAY im not gonna drive my car for 2 weeks so I ordered a fuel injector for about $150 and replaced it and car is great now! If you need any help let me know. |

sorry to revive an old thread yet again but if you all or anyone else had this code i threw it today and i fixed it... rather simple so ill post a picture.
next to the coils there is a sensor plug for each injector. mine wasnt fully seated. i recently did a lot of work under the hood and had the entire valve cover off and walnut shelled and so fourth. check make sure they are all seated and go from there.

I know this is an N54-related topic, but there isn't much info on the web about one of the codes so I wanted to chime in:
I got a N52 and only this code: 2E35 - Injection valve cylinder 6, input signal. It turns out that the injector was leaking gas, possibly because of the upper seal. I am going to replace that injector and the seals for the rest just in case. Will update if anything changes. Car has around 63k miles and my suspicion is that it was damaged after the valve cover gasket replacement but it's a long shot since that happened 10 months prior. Tech said this issue is uncommon. |
