lol....I don't see anything broken. Your gap is similar to others so that's why I'm asking. I've had the front of my car apart so I'm wondering if that's why.....

IMO, It might be a simple fix.

For the gap, use the same material you have used for the intake pipe/filter hole.

No, I'm asking because if the majority have a larger gap I will revise the lid a little bit

How tight should the fit be?

See my post #95. I have hardly anygap at all. I actually had to sort of slide it under the core support barely before aligning the 5 torx screw holes. I had to leave the aft mount screw loose until all of the 5 torx screws were tightened and then tighten that 10mm at back of box. I didn't take a picture as this is already accomplished at post 95.

Not complaining about this. Only a comment. I do notice there is a small variation on a side to side basis. What I'm saying is my tip of filter cone looks like its got the other (now unused) mount tab sort of sticking into the cone's end. Others cone tips look to be a little further to driver side and tab not protruding into cone tip. Hope this makes sense. I attribute this to how the MAF is exactly placed into that throat seal in the inboard box panel. I could futz around with it and get it adjusted more but it isn't worth the trouble.

I will need to get a better close up pic for you guys to see my point about filter's tip.

I grabbed Iaknown install pic shown to us from mid Dec 2016 and labeled roughly where my cone filter tip is. I did a side by side comparison. I think its all about how you orient the MAF in the interior panel feed through. I may have cranked my out at a bigger rake angle (I'm not referring to the twist angle about axis of the filter, that's another parameter of variation too).

Cuda, I had very similar experience and fitment to yours. Minimal gap and also had to sort of snugly slide the clear cover under the core support, being very careful when tightening down the far corner screw. Bottom line, nice tight fit. Only comment is that I was not able to eliminate all gap around the MAF. I have a space about 1/4" wide and 1/2 long where the rubber molding is not snug against the MAF housing. I do not consider that to be an issue.

Very, very pleased with this product and quality craftsmanship.

I will try to get a pic of mine up over the weekend.

Anyone currently running this on a stock car, or planning on getting one on your stock car soon? I'm wondering how it sounds with the stock boost levels. Trying to decide on so many mods right now.

Some of the variations are possibly due to how the post-MAF snorkel is oriented. One 6mm clamp may be able to help with adjustments. The clamp is not the one that is MAF to snorkle, it's the one that is snorkle to turbo inlet pipe.

This was the last thing I tightened down after connecting 90deg corrugated duct. I did angularly adjust it while loosened. I'll tweek everything some more.

Here is a sound clip of Iaknown's intake since I haven't seen anything posted about it and a lot of questions regarding it.

So I just took iaknowns intake for a spin.

Around 16lbs I start hearing, sssshshhhhhhh!!!!
The sound is amazing, and definitely feels more free flow!

I haven't had the chance to really get into her yet but so far very content. I wouldn't describe any of the noises to be strange or possibly harmful, just sounds like an airbox with turbos to me.
