E9x M3 - EDC part numbers across range.

Hi all,

Does anyone know if EDC part numbers are exchangeable across the range (E90, E92, E93)?

I am assuming that each model has slightly different spring rates so setups will vary, but are the shocks otherwise identical, perhaps with the exception of the E93 which will probably quite fat on the rear end?

I've noticed people selling part numbers for say E93 and saying they came off an E92 and this confused me a little.

Thanks,
Andy

Hy, Just read your post because Im searching some news about EDC malfunction.

For your question you can check on realoem.

If the part number can fit on other range it will be noticed on the part decription.

Thanks.

They aren't listed as compatible, which is why I was asking. Some BMW parts have different part numbers but are for all intents and purposes identical.

Now I know the rear struts and springs are different for E93 vs E92 in order to take the extra weight, but they are actually available as separate parts.

The front EDC strut is sold as a struct + spring package, so if you have a busted front shock, you have to replace the whole assembly. I am just wondering what would be different from an E92 and E93 strut.

The E93 is a heavier car, but mainly that weight is at the rear and generally it is the spring that changes to account for this.

Hey, you might try your question in the M3 forums, this one is for regular E9x cars.
