Introduction to the NW

Wanted to say hi to all in the PNW!!!
I am new here (E90Post), but spent most of my life here.
A little about me:
Bought my first M3 in 2004 from BMW Seattle. Was around the scene back with E46fanatics back in the day.
Moved to Taiwan for 5 years, just got back in December.
Loved my M so much I shipped it to Taiwan with me. Was known there because I was the "white guy" that drove a M3 in Taiwan.
Look for over 2 months to find my new car. Purchased it in California and drove it back. Awesome family trip! 2009 with just about everything minus Comp pack. I also found the best factory in Taiwan for Carbon parts and will be doing what I can to change my car for the better.
It's great to be back in the U.S.A
It's great to be driving my new M

Thanks...
I saw that. I am actually pretty far south until the end of June, but I think I am going to try and make it to introduce myself and meet some people interested in similar things. Any details on where exactly?

I believe they are meeting in skagit county, washington at a casino this time. Check the USA-Northwest forum (where we are now) scroll down a bit and you'll see a post by bimmette for a meet on march 18th, i think.

-Cheers

Thanks guys...
I plan to be there.
For now I am down in Graham so I will pass through Auburn to get up there.
I have kids so no guarantees on time but we can try to coordinate a time to go up!
About how many usually show up?

I am starting a business in Carbon Fiber parts.
I got tired of the horrible stuff that was available 10 years ago.
I tried and ended up going for Vorsteiner parts back then.
I started searching for factories and after a long search found the factory that supplies most of the big businesses around.
People in Taiwan are not giving of information so it actually took me about 2 years to find the actual factory.
I am in the process of making a website, but if you need something in particular let me know.
I actually have a set of pre-face 335 front splitters at my house.
I wanted to import a E91 335 before I bought my M.
I will be more than happy to help anyone who is looking.
I will be importing some E90 M stuff for my car in the next couple of weeks.

I'd like a carbon rear diffuser. There are pictures of mine (not fitting) in my thread. I've looked everywhere, thinking I may just get a plastic one but I want carbon!

As your thread states aftermarket parts sometimes needs some help with fitment. That being said that is a little much.
I used to have a E46 M3 which I used Vorsteiner parts ie; hood, front and rear diffusers. The front and hood where fine, but I really had to work at the rear and those where very expensive parts. Luckily I worked at a shop and know what is needed to fix small issues or could find someone to help if I didn't.
If you want to ditch that one I can see what I can do for you. If you want to play with that one first to see what you can do no problem! I think with some help you could get that one to work.
I am not sure where that was made, but I can tell you from seeing products at the factories China does not even get close to Taiwan as far as quality. Let me know how this turns out!
Try not to get frustrated with it because that's when you want to give up. Walk away for a day or two and try again. If you need anything beyond that let me know!

Will your business be strictly importing pre-made parts, or will you be offering installation, painting, fabricating, etc?

Agreed about Taiwan, they seem to make higher quality products, China is great at copying things for cheap but their quality control\assurance is abysmal and you tend to always have to rework their products.

In the beginning I am only importing. I used to do all of the above. Fab, paint, and installation. If there are enough people wanting the full service, I might change my mind in the future.
Here is a sample of my work. Truck I built for myself when I got old enough to build and pay for my own. Couldn't when I was in High School. Did all the metal work, welding, paint and though there is no pictures of the interior my wife did all that! Was featured in a major magazine, been in many other mags. Not a BMW, but shows some work I did.

Here is my old M3 after I shipped it to Taiwan. Did the install of suspension and carbon parts. The parts are all from Vorsteiner. $$$, but they all had fitment issues. Had to do some shaving and adjusting to get clean gaps all around.

Can't wait to meet some of you at the meet next month! Should be fun. Until then if anyone needs anything just let me know.
Thanks, Jeffrey
