Dewmaaaa shiiii - smoke from the hood on startup

Anyone experienced this? Smoke from Under the hood on start up?

I thought valve cover gasket. So I replaced, no cracks on the cover either. I know it doesn't make sense as to why there would be smoke on start up if oil leaking... Car is cold lol.

Anyway.

Looks like smoke from rear turbo area.. Car has 150 k kms... Turbo gone?

Whatever it is, exhaust fumes leaking from somewhere.

Have you looked underneath the car? Id check front of the engine for oil filter housing gasket leaks first (the oil can travel all the way to the exhaust)

Then get under the car and have a look at the turbos at the vbands that hold the CHRA to the exhaust housing and the oil drains.

Sounds like leaky diwnpipes or seal around manifold. Do you get smoke billowing from the exhaust when stopped at lights? If so then prob turbos

Thanks Gents.

Oil Filter Housing was changed and not leaking a few months ago.

The smoke come as as you start so gasket is what I think it is.

I will check the vbands next.

Thinking of dropping the steering rack and checking.
