New to the forum - Saying Hi!

Howdy,

I'm new to the forum and have recently purchased a 2008 e93 335i.

Loving the car to death and have some plans for extensive FBO and mods in the nearish future.

Hi guys and thank you for the welcome!

Did a little work on my little whip this weekend, replaced the plastic charge pipe with a new metal one, including the obligatory BOV =)

Also installed a new cold air intake system, its an Injen clone but seems to do the job for the moment.

I'm looking at going MHD flash once my cable and new tablet arrives etc.

Also looking at Alpina flashing my 6AT it looks rather complicated! anyone on here have experience doing this or able to assist in doing the flashing?

My next plans are as follows:
1. Replacing suspension with a new sports coil over set
2. Either PE modding or replacing the exhaust system
3. Installing a new FMIC
4. Replacing the rear bumper and side skirts with M3 style replacements (to match the M3 existing front bumper)
5. Considering replacing the interior white/cream leather trim with red leather as I really like the Black/Red combo but not sure on how available or costly such a replacement will be

Also planning on a big service weekend(s), plugs, oil, filters, coils and transmission pan/fluid etc to get her all cleaned up and serviced.

Considering pulling the injectors to check the wear on them and the indexing, likely to replace with new/latest indexed units in the short term.

Will do all this myself, not that I have much mechanical experience but I want to learn and I got the car specifically to be able to mess around with it myself.

Below are some picks from my recent dabbling. Please note I've still some work to do on the air ram as its not all fitting in right just yet!

Hi Socket!

I just posted an update with a list of initial plans and aspirations for the car.

Also just wanted to say your 335 Build thread inspired me to buy this car! So thank you very much and I hope you get her back with the new turbos in soon!

Cheers Mate.

Hi, she's a 6AT with the little paddles =)

Didn't think they released a Manual version of this car in Australia?

Cheers

Oh dear I no not the power of my build thread lol. Jokes the N54 is a great platform with its combination of power, comfort and ease of modding. The biggest problem is not spending all your money on car parts lol. Looking forward to following your build and seeing where she ends up

Nice progress. Quite a list of things to do. Injections willl need new seals if you remove them so I'd leave them be unless you are having misfires etc. if you are in Melb Vince (Vtl) can help with a walnut blast to get the sludge off the valves which will help with smooth running...

Made a round trip Melbourne to Sydney return this week with some running around totaling approx 2100km across 4 days in my e93.

Not a step out of place, she performed very well other than requiring a Litre of top up oil on the return trip (I've a small gasket leak on my Oil Filter housing have ordered a new one).

Only thing I noticed was the significant volume of brake dust build up on my front rims! No idea what pads are presently on her, but I take this as a sign I need to order some ceramic replacements.
