:: ECS Tuning :: Introducing The ECS 335i Performance Strut Tower Brace
The ECS strut tower bar kit offers more than just good looks - it strengthens and triangulates the front end, providing more consistent suspension geometry with less chassis flex. The braces are available in silver or black with a red ECS Tuning logo or silver ECS Tuning logo. I have a dumb question, I was just wondering how the Brace protects the towers from "mushrooming" or other deformation. Is it because the mounts act like reinforcement plates?
I am pretty interested. I have an e90 that I hit a pretty big pot hole with and bent both my passenger side wheels last year. I freaked out that my shock tower mount was deformed. There is a slight outline of the shock mount on the top of the tower. But, It doesn't protrude or look bent. But, I guess it would give me a little more piece of mind if it was reinforced with something and make the body more rigid. |

e90 John the plate end of the bar is going to help sandwhich the tower and distribute and shock to the tower over a greater area. So yes it's acting as a reinforcement plate of sorts for the towers while also adding rigidity to the front end.

Is the bar safe to use in place of the OEM strut brace? Finding that coilovers with adjustable dampening don't fit under the OEM bar and I need a solution.

The Kohlefaser Luft-Technik Twin Cone Intake, yes.
The Kohlefaser Luft-Technik Induction System, our strut bar does not clear this intake. Currently I don't believe there are any strut bars on the market which clear this intake. You can remove one of the bolts which holds the center section in place rather easily. |
