Yeah, looks like he had an incredible launch there. I think I can match that trap speed with better IAT control. I was launching at around only 4.5-5 PSI with no wheel slip at all, I tried once at 12 PSI but wheel hopped really bad. Finding somewhere between should net a better 60 foot for me but that will take practice as when you first brake boost the DME limits load then after a second or two it seems to remove the load limit and let you build more than 4-5 psi of boost. JB4's obviously don't have this problem as the wastegate is directly controlled by the JB4. To launch at 12 PSI+ I would think the springs would need to be softened.

Actually springs have nothing to do with causing wheel hop. Usually it is suspension bushings, but can be shocks if they are way off. Uncontrolled movement of the tires is causing the hop. I am guess the hop was in the front? I would replace the tension rod bushings, I noticed a huge difference when I did mine. Get the strongflex red. I did the yellow and they are a little stiffer than I would ideally like. Handling is drastically changed though.

He gained a little on you from the launch, but most of it was during the run. With the trap speeds almost the same this means he was gaining it during the run, which is likely the shift points. With xHP you should be shifting faster, so you should actually be gaining on him.
