You don't need one at all these days no matter what version. Head over to bmw coding forum and look for, let's hack the cic. In there you will find how to do, it literally takes 30 seconds.

If the CIC is .C16 or older, then you shouldn't need a FSC. Just code it, and it should work. If it's newer than .C16, you would have to go through the painful/complicated process of downgrading the software version or paying for FSC.

That thread pertains to 1B (map) files, not BMW Apps. The problem here is if the car wasn't fitted with it originally or later by BMW, there is no file within the CIC to obtain...

It was checked on my cic , it has the latest software . so yes I thought my only options were downgrade , what u need the ICOM for and a pita , or buy a fsc code..

I didn?t read up on that hack the idrive , so does that work for apps or is it just maps ? Anyone do it b4 with apps and wanna remote in and make some $ lol
