Smile Some Assembly Required 335d...

has anyone seen the show on discovery channel called some assembly required? they had a small section on building a 335d in austria factory. there was alot of cool info on the show like the huge ass cats on the 335d. i finally understand what our cats are used for too by their animated diagram .

the cats filter the unburned carbon molecules and neutralize them and it burns off as water vapor. on the 335d however there is an additional use of urea (piss) that neutralizes something in the diesal gas which i found pretty cool.

just wanted to share

I can see it in a bar...boy meets girl....

Girl: "so what do you do?"
Boy: " I work for BMW"
Girl: "oooohhhhh....what do you do there?"
Boy: "I build part of the catalytic converter"
Girl: "The what?"
Boy: " it makes the exhaust cleaner"
Girl: [turns out to be a tree-hugger]"wow, that's cool. What part do you do?"
Boy: "I pee"
Girl: "wtf?"
Boy: "I stand at the assembly line and piss in the catalytic converters for the diesel cars"
Girl: [leaves]

Or maybe they've just plumbed the restroom right over to the assembly line. I wonder who changes the filter that catches the floaters and hockey pucks.....intern job.

hahahahahaha!!! man thats too funny!

but seriously now, If I take a piss in the exhaust pipe will that make my exhaust cleaner?

also does the content of the piss have an effect on the exhaust? i.e. if I drink a lot of beer... etc...

I thought it was pretty good... I'm glad to see a "How it's Made" type of show that doesn't completely suck. There's that other show might actually be called "How it's Made" that is so over generalized as to become inaccurate, and they provide almost no real information. So yeah, "Some Assembly Required" gets a thumbs up.
