Traffic updates?

Hello,

Got Professional Nav and 2018 maps, in a 2010 E91 LCI in the UK.

can anyone tell me how the car gets its traffic info? as i get offered re routes a lot but i'm pretty sure they are out of date? infant i'm sure some are.....

is there someway to get this working properly?

Cheers

Andy

Traffic data needs to be live in order to be of any use. The car pulls it in via FM radio stations, provided you have one nearby that broadcasts the data.

car gets TMC traffic updates via FM radio, they're not that accurate
car can also get RTTI traffic updates but you need a connecteddrive subscription, far better accuracy BUT only works on major roads which is really annoying. 90% of the roads that are likely to catch me out are NOT covered by RTTI provided by BMW, google maps etc have much better traffic info on just about all roads. Given the high cost just to get RTTI on CIC nav (they force you to subscribe to things you don't want, can't just have RTTI) and it having such poor road coverage I didn't bother resubscribing.
