Some guy on a forum mentioned he pressure washed intake valves, thoughts?

I wouldn't even want to imagine how pressure washing the intake valves would look.

Yeah it would be like putting a spoon under a water fall. Absolute mess. I just heard a diesel mechanic in another forum who did t. Just wanted some other thoughts.

I'd rather use the crc intake valve cleaner spray.

Pressure washing "may" work but will add lots more work as you now have to remove all of the spark plugs and crank the motor to expel any water that may have gotten in.

If any water gets into the cylinders and you start the car you could hydrolock it, bend the rods etc,.. Now if the head was removed first for another reason then it would be ok.

Yeah, this seems like a really bad idea on an assembled motor in a car. Like Boland said, if the head was off for whatever reason, it would be ok.

Terrible idea. Don't do it unless you want major headaches.
Spraying high pressure water into that small space will splash all that dirty water right back at your face and all over the engine.
If you have your intake manifold removed, there are multiple unhooked electrical connectors hanging all over the place. Not wise to get those wet.
It probably still won't be as good as a walnut blast.
Risk of hydro lock your cylinders
1600 psi is enough to strip or break some of the many small wires basically everywhere.
The whole reason bmw uses walnut shells is if a few pieces get into the engine, they burn away harmlessly.
No need to reinvent the wheel. Do it right the first time.
