Pressure Washer

I am currently looking to purchase a pressure washer. What are your opinions on ones made by Karcher?

This is the one I am looking at purchasing:

I had a smaller 1350 PSI Karcher unit and it broke a little after 6 months of 2-3 uses/ week.

I now have their larger model and its working out fine.

Next purchase when this breaks down (it will eventually) in another year or two, will be a Honda powered gas PW. Something with a low PSI, but higher GPM.

Karcher is one of the best companies for electric power washers. It's a German company that can be trusted. Our Karchers in Canada are assembled in Italy. Mine just came in today from Costco . Works wonderful and is recommend by pro detailers too

I have a honda gas powerd pw and its great. You pay more initially but it will last forever, and you can use it for others things like concrete, siding, etc. Just make sure you lower the rpms so the pressure isn't too high when using it for your car.

I really want a gas PW. I borrowed one for cleaning my garage floor (2400psi and 2.5 gallons a minute), and loved it. Ofcourse I'd use a wide tip for my car and keep it a good distance away. The added GPM really help.

Ya, I will never buy a electric pw. I love my gas one and it will last forever.

My older gas PW is not working well anymore and I was looking for a new model as well. I saw a 1750 PSI Karcher model (I think it's the same as in the OP) on sale for $119 at Lowes this week. I might end up just splurging for a Honda gas one as I use it to powerwash my house, driveway, patio, and other things and I'm afraid going from gas to electric will not only be a pain (cords for electric and such) but also not as powerful for those chores that require high PSI and GPM. Too bad I just spent all my money on a flex the other day- The things we do to make our cars shiny......

I purchased a Husky 1550 psi pressure washer from Home Depot because it was a closeout($59). It's powerful enough for my cars and it was cheap

Just got one this morning. Husky tools with 2600 psi and 2.5 GPM. It has a Honda engine and was reasonably priced. They had a dewalt with 4000 PSI and 4.0 GPM, $999- but that's a little overkill. I haven't used my new one yet (it is just starting to warm up in Michigan) but it has interchangeable heads for different spray patterns. My old one has a twist head and did not require you to remove and replace heads when you wanted to adjust spray- but that broke too along with the soap function and last time, the engine seized up. So maybe thats why all the better units do not use the adjustable heads- more problems.

Now I'll be ready when my flex comes for some serious detailing..................

Make sure you turn down the rpms when washing your car with it, they can strip off paint if you're not careful.

Just don't spray at very close range. Use a wash mit for scrubbing.
