Helix/AA install/remove times?
Hey Guys,
I'm trying to decide on which tune to go for. From what I understand, it's in my best interest to remove the unit before taking my car to the dealership for any service. Because of this, ease of install/removal is certainly important. I know that the sstt is super easy to install/remove but it seems it also isn't necessarily the "best" tune. Can anyone fill me in on how long it will take to install/remove the Helix Attache or AA tune? How about the Juicebox? Thanks! |

The Helix, AA, and JB will all take around the same amount of time. In all honesty I could probably uninstall the JB in around 30 min....
I would think the AA and Helix would be close to that but possible a little bit longer since they intercept more wires. Hope this helps....

I have a set of tools ready to perform the work along with the hex bit sitting in the cordless drill. The disassembly now takes about two minutes, if that. I agree, all should be similar with just a few minutes seperating all. |

Depends how much experiece you have with it.
As the guy who probably done the most PROcede installs/unistalls in the Seattle area, I can do it in like 15 min. The Helix is faster to install/uninstall, than the AA and PROcede IMO.

Is the AA processor going to be installed differently? Or are you refering to PROcede?

So how long does it take you to get to the DME box the first few times? I'm planning on a dry-run over the next couple of weekends, just in case I have to temporarily remove the Attache.

Plan on about 30 minutes just to get to the DME on your first try. After that it can easily be done in 5 - 10 minutes.

+1, I really took my time on my first install and it took about 1.5 hours for everything....

That being said, from my knowledge, the Attache has the most laid out, hard to get wrong, installation method. Meaning everything is labled so well, my nephew could put the right wires in place. This could help you in the install/remove process considerably.

Plus, it sound like the helix will be a little easier because you don't have to mess with the solenoid vacuum hoses!
I agree though - Plan on about 1.5 hours for the first time. |
