I dont disagree w/ you b/c I have an XI myself!!! I will never drive a RWD car again...unless I move somewhere sunny. Anyways, I meant if you were offered both FREE, a 335 or an e92 M3...I'd take the M3...but turn aroudn and sell it!! |

Peace. We all recognize that the 335 and M3 are two of the nicest cars around. Personally I'd love an M3, but it's not a financial move that I'd be comfortable with.

You can get a GT-R but have a 335? Ummm, ya, right. The reason we don't get C63 AMG's is because a stock M3 walks the AMG on the track, that's documented. The Merz is a slot machine on wheels and an ugly one at that. You guys dissing the M3 with your pathetic arguments is embarrassing for all Bimmer owners. The 335 is a great car but no M. Just park them side by side and the comparison is laughable unless you spend the money it takes to swap out the hood, fenders, seats, differential, wheels, tires, suspension, steering wheel, mapping, etc etc...give me a break. But if you want to continue wasting your time with endless mods and upgrades to try to best a fully stock M, go for it. Sounds like insanity to me. If your arguments had any merit at all, the evidence and proof your arguments were valid would be easy to see at the showroom...but they're not. The only people walking into the showroom to buy a 335 instead of an M3 are the guys who aren't banking enough to get the M badge or believe straight line acceleration from a modded 335 vs. an M3 is the whole story. I am buying the M3 because I like its performance in stock form, the look, the history, etc. The 335 offers nothing over the M3 in stock form and it is way too little consolation or benefit to simply say "I have a 335 and I can beat an M3". My guess is you were on a playground somewhere in the past saying "my dad can beat up your dad". By the way, you know how most think Barry Bonds needs an asterisk * by all his records? Its the same for your BS 335 vs. M3 arguments...if you are going to make statements and arguments for the 335 we all know are based on modifications, unchecked and undocumented data or some combination, start your comment with * and if you make the argument in person print one of these * out and hold it over your head while that drivel comes out of your pie hole. If you want to get back to a real subject, compare your modded 335 to a modded civic, neon, Nissan, or whatever. We all know you want an M, your posts make that much clear regardless of your choice of words and denials, truly laughable. Okay...adjust your flame and go for it....

damn you guys are really taking the blowers for granted. no offense but a v2 against a stock m3 come on now...
m3 will always > 335i not to mention its truely in a different league. i test drove the new m3 and it by far just blows away my 335i in everything. the worst part of the test drive i would have to say was it was in stick , yes im an f1 type of guy . even the e46 m3 stick and smg i would say > 335i. this comparision is more driver selective but in my opinion i still crave for the m3. if you test drive the e46 or the new one first thing you will notice when driving is the pure raw power between the motor to steering wheel, to the road. simply amazing feel that my 335i can't provide. also im a na guy so that is always a plus and the ///m general philosophy is keeping it na, and with everyone else being fi look at how well the m3 still keeps up with the competitors. will we see fi ///m in the future? i would hope so to keep with the competition or create a hell of a v10/v12. and lets honestly think about this. soon the m3 will very much have the same tuning that was available for the previous being pulley, intake, and ecu along with exhaust. these 4 basic items will make the car go na VROOOM, let along the future provided cams and a turbo or s/c from reputable tuners like AA, ESS, RMS, etc. also when the csl is released and vorsteiners future csl parts the m3 will a pure adrenaline filled na sports car and that my friend is a real sports car |

So you are saying a track preppred 335 will handle better than the M3? Answer is bullshit. I've seen an e46 M3 supercharged, koni 2812 suspension, borla exhaust, adjustable sways, SSR rims with 295's on the rear. IS NO WAY at 335i with a V2, coilovers, LSD, swaybars, bigger tires will take it. I've showed you the youtube where the 335 lost by about a second in the 1/4 mile...get it on the track it'll lose by more...plain and simple. And another thing...no warranty when the car is on the track? What are you talking about? If you take your car to a track and your turbo get's fried...put it on a trailer and take it to BMW...if it's still under warranty...THEY WILL PAY FOR IT.

the price markup is bs. if you search i will guarentee you, you can find a dealer near by selling at msrp or 1-2k over and if not just wait it out a bit. i have 3 m3s (2 coupe 1 sedan) at 3 different dealerships at msrp. so the price markup of $25k-30k is total bs now, it is to say so last two weeks ago.

hl0m4n - Yep...mark up of $25K to $30k is BS. my dealership has two...and they are selling for MSRP (say that because he said the sticker price is what I would have to pay)...plus they are advertising the same price on the internet. Also have a 128i there as well...
