Hellst XRT v5 Bulbs review
First some backstory: I ordered from IJDMToy a year ago to replace my stock yellow angel eyes and they died a month ago. *Not impressed*
I drove without them but came across this unique set of bulbs which looked pretty awesome, I didn't want to spend $235 USD on a set of LUX bulbs. So I bit the bullet and ordered this set for $145 USD ($185 CDN) The 2 year warranty helped me make this decision to buy the Hellst XRT V5. I ordered from bimmereyes.com, and got the set in my mailbox within 5 days, that was awesome. Being that this wasn't my first time installing these bulbs I was able to install the passenger side within 5 mins. The driver side was tougher because I had to remove the air box. Once out, it was much easier, however it was tougher to fit ALL the stuff that came with the bulb into the housing. On first look, I was so impressed with the brightness, I still need to adjust the lights a tad so that the outer rings light up a bit brighter. Overall I'm very happy with this set and recommend it to my friends often now. TLDR: Hellst XRT V5 - Great Value for money, use it in your car. Install and forget about them. |

Installed Bimmereyes Hellst XRT v6, quite happy with how they turned out.
A couple of tips for those installing 1. The H8 Halogen is installed behind this seal. 1/8 of a turn will let you pull it off. You don't need to remove the fender liner, but I couldn't see well enough to figure out what I needed to do. Now that I've done it, it can be done through the hood alone. 2. To remove the H8 bulb, turn towards the center of the car. (For the drivers side this is clockwise, for the passenger side it is counter-clockwise) 3. It doesn't appear that the power connector is keyed, so I just made sure the red wires lined up. |
