2006 BMW 325xi basic CCC audio keeps cutting off

Maybe someone might be familiar with this issue. The audio cuts off intermittently and gets longer until eventually there is no sound from any of the sources. Audio will play fine for a minute or two on cold start then it will eventually be gone. Idrive knob and UI will be sluggish at this point.

Alway's check that you have a strong battery and alternator first.
battery higher than 12.25 volts resting preferable 12.5 alternator
should be around 14

The IBS system can cause you to chase your tail.

I have checked the resting battery voltage at 12.6v, and the voltage while running is at 16v. I'll do an optical inspection of the amp to see if there is something amiss.

The running voltage of 16 seems kind of high.
I would expect to see around 14.5 in a gas engine.

maximum good level is 15.6 for lead battery and 14.8 for AGM battery when engine running
almost every module in BMW have voltage check at the input and will store error code if voltage is lower or higher specified limits

Correction it was 14.1~ while running. Probably will need time to open up the back and check the amp.

Apparently there is no amp for a basic stereo package. Seems the HU is the problem. Plays fine for a few minutes then cuts off eventually.

this problem also can be due faulty module on MOST bus, which is located in trunk under trunk cover behind backrest
it can be sirius module, or dab module, or iboc module or video module or tcu/mulf/combox module
you need to disconnect that module from most bus and loop most circuit
