Quoted 900 for rdc module and coding how easy is DIY?

2011 bmw 335xi needs RDC module, dealer quoted 900 bucks for the job. How easy is DIY? Worried about the coding aspect of the install. Thanks.

I'm sort of going through this now. The part is only $78 or $300 (There are 2 versions of the RDC receiver, im trying the cheaper one).
Install is maybe 15 minutes, coding (which im trying to sort out now) probably 30 min if that.

On my 2011 335xi the rdc is in the RR wheel well behind the tire.

I'm stuck on the coding part so I posted in the coding section for help. If it's too much trouble I'll swtich to FTM, search for it on the forum and you can learn more about it.

Interesting, couldn’t find the part via google will have to pull part number from mine. I have the same car 2011 335xi coupe. For 900 I think I’m ok with a Christmas tree on the dash as long as the systems are still working.

Have you coded yet?

Not yet, it won't let me code anything with the RDC so far, but it could be a error in my install of the program.

Did you have to buy a coding program?

For the correct part number use www.realoem.com
Either put you vin in and search or use the drop down boxes to find your car.

For coding the module, read through this post.

To setup the software to code, follow the directions in this thread

I"m selling a nearly new RDC/TPMS if you want to try it. I was never able to get my ncsexpert to code the new module.

https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1506372

I eventually gave up and went the FTM route after getting new wheels without tpms installed.
