Is a FMIC necessary ?
Just looking for everyone's opinion. I'm about to install my JB4, Downpipes and charge pipe on my 2013 335xi e92 n55 it has the M sport package and the FMIC seems to be pretty decent do you guys think it's necessary to upgrade it right now or can I wait a little bit ?

It's a must. The OEM FMIC is shit.

Yes you need to replace the stock unit. Anyone that is looking to floor the car for more than a few seconds should be replacing the intercooler. The stock on doesn't reduce IATs nearly as much as it should.

Agreed. High iat's are not healthy for the motor. So many aftermarket options to choose from.

I found it to be a great upgrade. Both performance wise and as a general intelligent upgrade over one of the fewer less-than-great parts in the BMW.

By chance I was looking at fmics on amazon and saw a review from 9krpmrx8 (recognized the car) who i think is running 20ish psi. He said IATs were in line with VRSF 7" fmic and for $275 you can't beat it:
