Quality of Replica E92 LCI Tail Lights
Looking to get feedback on the quality of the replica lci tail lights. I just received a pair and am a little disappointed with the quality. Some of the housing edges have rough spots. Some of the internal parts also don't look quite right. I had to play with the passenger tail light a ton just to get it 95%. I've purchased replica parts before that were really close to oem quality. Has anyone received lci tails that are close to oem quality or do these sound par for the course? Trying to figure this out while I can still get a full refund. Thanks.

I bought some depo one’s off eBay about a year ago. They are not oem quality but they are definitely good enough for the price. They have been on my car a year and I have no issues.
I got the ones that came with a resistor and said no coding required, but I still got bulb warnings and had to code LED lights. Outside of that no complaints at all. Last edited by Biginboca; 09-07-2018 at 08:31 PM.. |

Here are pics of the imperfections inside the housings as well as one pic showing the rough edges in the inner tail light. I also found some loose dirt. If this is what reps are typically like I think I'm going to have to go oem.

Real Depos are honestly nicer than modern BMW tailights IMO - at least for our X5, they definitely were a big step up. BMW has earned a reputation since the E46 of leaky lights, bad connectors, and failing electronics. my E90 hasn't had a problem but it also stays in a garage.

Return those and ask for a new set. Those edges look bad.

I actually bought a pair of ebay lci lights and I had some trouble aligning the outer lights, but with some added/removal of washers, the fitment finally looked right or good enough. Overall the quality of the taillights were decent and I have no complaints.

I have a genuine set for sale.
How much did you pay for depo lights?
